The Infinite Line [A Search for the Unknown]
Roseanne Lynch | Richard Forrest | Cassandra Eustace
Curated by Sophie Behal & Roseanne Lynch
The Infinite Line [ A Search for the Unknown ] was a 3 person exhibition that took place in TACTIC gallery, Cork City in May 2014. It was accompanied by a once-off performance piece on the opening night by Fergus Byrne, 120 limited edition publications and a mini-symposium: The Infinite Line: A Search for the Unknown.
Our knowing is through our individual perception of things and ultimately not knowing is the only thing that we can be certain of. This exhibition is an empirical questioning of things beyond our understanding and the nature of knowledge itself. It deals with knowledge as an unstable ground and precarious truth.
This show takes as its genesis ideas of spacial and temporal slippage and the unknown. The artists work loosely through the medium of drawing in the tri-dimensions and the experiential qualities of light. The work will touch on the scientific exploration of physics and it’s relationship to philosophical ideas of perception.
