THINGS THAT MATTER
Solo exhibition in Kilkenny Arts Office Gallery in June 2019. Curated by Leah Corbett.
This exhibition explored ways of measuring and defining time in relation to our everyday lives. From fleeting moments to potential happenings, these times were made material in the gallery. The sculptural forms existed in a state of possibility, pausing on their way to becoming something else.Responding to the bells of St Canice’s Cathedral, the work explored the symbol of the bell as an object that can hold and amplify the properties of time. Its rhythm can come to create and define a space, a community, a life.
As part of the exhibition I led a silent listening walk, reflecting afterwards on the sounds and atmospheres that we had tuned in to.
